The Dixon Police Department is currently seeking motivated Police Cadets

The Dixon Police Department's Cadet Program offers a prestigious volunteer opportunity for young adults to embark on a rewarding career path while positively impacting their community. As a police cadet, individuals will gain invaluable hands-on experience across various facets of law enforcement. They will also learn valuable skills like teamwork, leadership, and service. 

This immersive learning experience includes accompanying Dixon police officers on ridealongs to witness firsthand the intricacies of their profession. The comprehensive training provided by the Cadet Program serves as an excellent foundation for those aspiring to pursue a career in law enforcement or related fields.

Dixon Police Cadets are required to be between the ages of 14 and 20, must be enrolled in high school or college with a grade point average above 2.0, be in good physical and mental condition and have a clear police record. Cadets will be chosen after successfully passing an oral interview and assessment.
